The Meta Centre operates its group living residences in the Greater Toronto Area. There are more than 18 homes staffed to support the variable support needs of our residents. Our homes are cheerful, well maintained and spacious. Residents have their own room and furnishings. We put much effort in ensuring the setting is as comfortable and family-like as possible. Opportunities to pursue personal interests without unwanted or unwarranted intrusion from others are ensured.

Meta Centre inventories, cares for and maintains the personal property of its residents with storage space for clothing and individual possessions. Sleeping quarters are furnished with appropriately sized bed, mattress and bedding according to weather. The bedrooms have an exterior window and coverings.

Nutritional needs of the residents are addressed and meal preparation is based on the Canadian Food Guide while recognizing the cultural diversities of our residents. Those who can, participate in cooking and baking for the residence and also in the upkeep of their homes to help enhance living skills and provide a sense of responsibility and ownership. Staff members provide assistance in attending regularly scheduled medical and dental appointments.

Repairs to our buildings are professionally undertaken and completed as sanctioned by municipal and provincial building codes stipulations. Measures and vigilance to minimize and manage any risks to the health and safety of residents and staff are closely monitored. The safety and cleanliness of the homes are priorities. Each residence has a recreation (common) area, exits are kept clear at all times, appliances and furnishings are clean and in good working condition, hazardous household products are stored and used safely.
